The Métis Urban Housing Association of Saskatchewan Inc. (MUHAS) was incorporated in 1992. Six member corporations provide over 1000 units for families, seniors and singles. The housing types vary by corporation in Lloydminster, Meadow Lake. Prince Albert and Regina.
Our mission is to work as a collective body on behalf of housing groups in Saskatchewan to provide housing for all Métis people.
MUHAS holds membership in, and is proud that it was the organization that founded the Network of Non-Profit Housing Providers (NPHPS) of Saskatchewan. This organization now has a new name which is the Saskatchewan Non-Profit Housing Association of Sk. name
MUHAS holds membership in the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association (CHRA).
MUHAS also holds membership in the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH)
The Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness leads a national movement of individuals, organizations and communities working together to end homelessness in Canada.
MUHAS has recently made some very significant changes to the strategic plan that will result in new partnerships. more meetings with federal and provincial Ministers of Housing and an increase in associate memberships.
MUHAS is currently working on increasing memberships for the Network of Non-Profit Housing Providers of Saskatchewan.
